This new Looper Animation is very, very special.
Zach Johnson (who did these painted posters) worked with Noah Fisher to create a gorgeous animation, by hand painting over 700 frames. The gif above is pulled from it, but you need to see the whole thing. I want every single one of them on my wall. Check it out over at Apple Trailers.
My friend Noah Fisher and I made this hand-painted, rotoscope animation trailer for Rian Johnson’s new film Looper, starring Bruce Willis, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Emily Blunt. The animation also features music from Nathan Johnson’s haunting and beautiful score, which is now available for purchase over at iTunes.
See the HD version over at Apple.
Looper hits theaters this Friday! I’ve had the incredible fortune of having already seen it 3 times, and I seriously cannot wait to see it again!
(Also, we’re selling matted prints of 15 individual paintings from the animation here.)
So glad to see this finally out there!
"If there is a sin against life, it consists perhaps not so much in despairing of life as in hoping for another life and in eluding the implacable grandeur of this life." -Albert Camus
To love is to suffer. To avoid suffering one must not love. But then one suffers from not loving. Therefore, to love is to suffer; not to love is to suffer; to suffer is to suffer. To be happy is to love. To be happy, then, is to suffer, but suffering makes one unhappy. Therefore, to be happy one must love or love to suffer or suffer from too much happiness.
I’m sick of not having the courage to be an absolute nobody.
